What is the best gaming laptop for Overwatch

The most important components to run Overwatch flawlessly are a processor (CPU) and a graphics card (GPU).

Although the recommended GPU “NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 or AMD Radeon™ HD 7950 or better”, in reality for the best experience, a laptop must have at least an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 560. Especially if you want an advantage over other players with having a display refresh rate of 144Hz. This means a laptop must be able to reach as close as 144 frames per second.

For the CPU, there is nothing to be worried about, as every gaming laptop listed here has more than powerful processor enough to run Overwatch.

You can also notice that all the laptops listed here have at least one system SSD drive. My opinion and big advice to you all: traditional HDDs are becoming obsolete. They are just slow and unreliable nowadays and can only be served as a second disk for storage space. Absolutely not for your system partition.

1. Acer Predator Helios 300 – 2019 Model – RECOMMENDED

CPU: Intel Core i7-9750H  GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6GB  |  SCREEN: 15.6″ FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS, 144Hz  |  RAM: 16GB DDR4  STORAGE: 256GB NVMe SSD (+ 1x Empty M.2 Slot, + 1x Empty 2.5″ SATA III Slot)

Acer Predator Helios 300 - 2019  offers a lot for its price. You can play most of the latest games around max settings without a problem as it has a powerful GTX 1660 Ti 6GB GPU. With extra storage slots you can easily upgrade for more disk space. It also has a screen refresh rate of 144Hz.

Price/performance
144 Hz display*

A 144Hz display* not only provides you with a more enjoyable and responsive overall gaming experience. But especially if you play competitive games, it is definitely recommended to have. You get an advantage over your opponents who have regular 60Hz displays.

Of course, a GPU must be able to maintain enough frames per second (more than 60 and up to 144) to make it a difference.

Here you can see the game running very smoothly (around 144 FPS) on an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, even on Epic Settings:

NOTE: If your budget is kind of limited, there is still a 2018 model available with Intel i7-8750H and Nvidia GTX 1060: Acer Predator Helios 300 - 2018

2. MSI GV62

CPU: Intel Core i5-8300H  GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050TI 4G |  SCREEN: 15.6″ FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS  |  RAM: 8GB DDR4  STORAGE: 256GB NVMe SSD

MSI GV62  is a bit lighter than most gaming laptops, the battery life is not quite good and the cooling does get a bit loud under heavy load. But other than that, this is a great laptop if you’re looking for some extra performance.

Lightweight   Good budget GPU   Loud fans under heavy load

3. Dell Inspiron 15 7567

CPU: Intel Core i5-7300HQ GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti |  SCREEN: 15.6″ FHD (1920 x 1080)  |  RAM: 8GB DDR4  STORAGE: 256GB SSD

If your budget is kind of limited and still want to have a decent gaming laptop, this Dell Inspiron 15 7567  should do the job. It is most suitable for a bit less-demanding games but can still run the latest ones on medium settings without a problem, as it has an upgraded GTX 1050 Titanium.

One great bonus is having a 74 Whr battery so it could be a nice student laptop, suitable also for use in classes.

Price    Great battery life   Plastic feel

CPU: Intel Core i7-8750H  GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB  |  SCREEN: 15.6″ FHD (1920 x 1080)  |  RAM: 8GB DDR4  STORAGE: 256GB M.2 SSD

Asus TUF Gaming FX504  is a gaming laptop that belongs somewhere around the mid-range of gaming laptops. For the price, the laptop brings great performance, above-the-average battery life, and thermals that just don’t quit. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re looking for a great gaming laptop that frequently punches above its weight.

Reasonable price    Intel’s 8th Gen CPU   Cheap design

5. HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop

CPU: Intel Core i7-8750H GRAPHICS: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB  |  SCREEN: 15.6″ FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS  |  RAM: 16GB DDR4  STORAGE: 128GB SSD + 1TB HD

HP Pavilion Gaming Model  is a compelling and affordable option for gamers on a budget. While the graphics performance is just a bit sub-par and battery life isn’t exceptional, neither of these are so bad as to be deal-breakers for most users. Great audio and video quality plus a solid hardware design are all just icing on the cake of what is otherwise a top-tier choice in the budget gaming category.

Great audio     Good quality screen   Chunky and heavy
