NEWS RELEASE ASC is awarded SBIR Phase II Contract by US Army CECOM for low power tool April 18, 2000 - WINDHAM, New Hampshire - Alternative Systems Concepts Inc. (also known as ASC), headquartered here, was recently awarded the second phase of a contract by the US Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) to develop methods and tools to optimize power at the behavioral level in the design process for electronic devices. The project will be carried out in partnership with Princeton University. This two-year program is slated for completion by January 12, 2002. The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program awards contracts annually to companies with fewer than 500 employees. If successful, the company is invited to propose a program to complete the development. In this highly competitive process the chances of winning a second phase are about 1 in 30. ASC is privately held and self-funded.
